About

Originally hailing from Brisbane, Katie found her passion for performing at a young age. She relished in the dramatic, playing crazy old women, witches, drunken whores and evil queens.

Katie graduated from the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts with a Bachelor of Arts (Music Theatre). Her WAAPA highlights included Mrs Lovett in Sweeney Todd; The Young Wife in Hello Again; West Side Story; Blood Brothers and Oklahoma! with Jill Perryman.

Since graduating, Katie has performed in numerous productions, most notably playing Shen Shen in the Australasian  tour of Wicked (GFO), where she also understudied and performed the role of Madame Morrible on many occasions. Other productions include playing Nancy in Oliver! (Packemin Productions), My Fair Lady (Opera Australia), the Australian premiere of Floyd Collins (Meredith Shaw Productions) and Transport (New Musicals Australia), written by Thomas Keneally and Larry Kirwan. Katie has recently been seen in the Australian tour of The Sound of Music understudying the roles of the Baroness and Sister Sophia.

In 2010 Katie wrote, produced and performed her one woman cabaret, Identity Crisis, which then went on to play a sold-out season at the Sydney Fringe Festival. Katie also had the opportunity to perform Swing Time With The Andrews Sisters at the world renowned Adelaide Cabaret Festival in 2012.

As well as performing, Katie is a passionate project leader for Opera Express, an organisation aimed at inspiring young people to unlock their creativity and get involved in the arts.
